Era - 1980s / 1990s - NJPW / AJPW

In the 80s and 90s there were few stronger wrestlers in New Japan than Riki Choshu. He won the IWGP Heavyweight title three times, but perhaps his most significant role was earlier, in founding the Ishingun stable to turn on New Japan and invade All Japan for a period of time. Choshu's fast paced hard hitting style was equally revolutionary, literally setting the pace of Japanese pro wrestling for years to come.
