Better for that are connectors, rather than rotors (pros: limited clang, better fitting, conveyor system and no merge blocks required for fiting multiple anhor points)
To do that simplest method is: build large grid with 3 connectors. put small grid connector near it, place battery on that grid (now it starts to align. Build frame to fit rest of connectors. Set force to maximum. When rest of connectors alligned, place on small grid landing gear (this is safety lock which can lock into large grid). When everything is aligned properly, lock connectors and start building rest of construction :)
Basically you incased a large ship in small blocks, right?
