No Ideological Division

Description
In the vanilla Brave New World game, with the new Ideological system, the diplomatic penalty for having a different Ideology than an AI was -35, when viewed using the Diplomacy Values mod. A denunciation, for comparison, is also -35. I've observed that when starting in later Eras where the Ideology is selected on Turn 2, this ideological divide creates a rift between the AI players that causes Order nations to make friends amongst themselves, and Autocracy nations to do the same. Autocrats will consider attacking Order neighbors instead of Autocracy neighbors, and since they have the +35 ideological opinion with Autocratic allies, they'll get friends even if they're a warmongering jerk. These ideological divisions end up being the all-powerful deciding factor when determining who will declare war on who in the early turns, and the pattern will continue until the game has created two international alliances, one with Order nations only, the other with Autocracy nations only, and since the AI doesn't know how to close diplomatic rifts, it will result in the AI Ideologies fighting it out forever. It's almost impossible for the player to stop this from happening as well, and even though they can make friends with Civs of other Ideologies, through actions such as freeing civilians or building landmarks, the two teams will continue to fight it out even if both share the player as a mutual friend.

This mod fixes that. It's a very small numerical change down in the game files, but it dramatically affects the way the game plays, when starting in the Industrial Era or onward. Without the positive ideological bonus, and without the negative ideological penalty, the AI players are much more likely to tolerate one another for their beliefs and they will be much more likely to band together against a warmonger, rather than fight opposite Ideologies. Note that this does not remove this issue entirely, it just reduces the effect and prevents the ideological teams from forming.

Note that, in Gods and Kings, the penalty for having a different Ideology is already pretty low, so this mod will probably have no effect unless you're using Brave New World and the revamped Ideology system.

Try to clear your cache in the Civilization documents folder. Then when you boot up again just wait for a second on the mods screen for the mods to install again and put back on all the mods you want. Sometimes mods just need to be unsubscribed and resubscribed when you add some after you've played with others. This way it just refreshes it all at once so it should clear up some issues. If it persists just focus on the mods that change the UI or graphics since this mod wouldn't have any affect on those files.

No. All it does is make the AI hate you less for having a different Ideology, and like you less for having the same one.

Does this mod stop the public opinion Ideology change? Nothing annoys me more than when I have to change from order to Autocracy or freedom.

I'm certain that this mod wouldn't cause any kind of a glitch like that. It has to be another mod you have enabled - try disabling all mods except this one and running a test to make sure everything works properly.

This mod seems to break the ingame textures of the reasearch tooltip tab thing, hexes, and improvement symbols. Also it breaks the city name tooltip thing as well

hmm comments aren't helpful at all. I was looking for player experience to get an extra idea how this plays out. The culture/tourism effects on ideology make it hard to play a certain route like pure science victory, etc.

What if I told you I wasn't trying to be realistic, I was fixing something in the game that I considered an irritating issue?
