Era - 1980s / 1990s - UWF / NJPW / UWFi

A pioneer in shoot style pro wrestling, involved in one of the first promotional "invasions" and one of the primary bridges between pro wrestling and mixed martial arts in Japan, Takada was an enormous influence in combat sports. His fights with Rickson Gracie were the beginning of Pride FC in Japan.

Takada had a wide variety of submissions, but his real strength was in his powerful kicks, likened by some to the swing of a baseball bat in their impact.
