Description
Made for 1.8/1.9.x. I have integrated this into my other mod, so I'm keeping this around for legacy versions of the game. Check it out here:

A general rebalancing of stations, and additional sections for them mid/late-game.

Military Station Buffs
All sections now have 2 strike craft slots. The base game strike craft section is now a torpedo section. All Military Stations recieve a bonus to Weapon Tracking and Accuracy. Build block radius is now on a station size basis; Platforms at range 35, Stations at 50, and Fortresses at 70, instead of the default 200.

Megafortifications
After researching Battleships (Spaceport 6) and Deep Space Installations, a Tier 3 engineering tech, Megafortications, unlocks 2 additional sections for stations, a Heavy (Large/Medium Weapons) and a Light variant (Medium/Small Weapons). The tech also increases the health of Military Stations and decreases their build cost, and doubles Spaceport Health and Weapons Damage, bringing them to between 5k and 7k strength before repeatables, depending on spaceport level.

Base File Changes
common/ship_sizes/00_ship_sizes (Station Buffs/Prevents duplicate stations in the ship designer menu.)

with this mod, is there a chance you can make it so that the player can choose to allow a different class of power supply? like... double materials cost, double the power supply? with the Defense Station, running 4x heavy sections, the 4th section is empty and there are no shields. the power supply isn't enough to both arm and shield the station. ... the idea that i have regarding defense platforms, is a huge flipping reactor, a tonne of armor and shielding.... and enough weaponry to make most enemies want to back off. as it stands now, there's armor, but no shields.

thats the only thing about this mod that i don't like. otherwise, i love it. (i use the whole mod, just commenting on this aspect here to keep it here)

Unfortunately this research also adds fighting power value to all the mining/research stations.
I really like how you set up the range.
