Era - 1950s / 1970s - EMLL / UWA

A groundbreaking high flyer and the inventor of the Huracánrana, the man later known as Huricán Ramirez started wrestling in the 1940s, but it was only after receiving his most famous mask and role that he found real success. As Ramirez, the masked man wrestled around the world, gaining a great deal of popularity in South and Latin America. Similar to contemporaries El Santo with whom he often teamed with and Blue Demon, Ramirez also found fame on the silver screen.

Interestingly enough, there were a number of times where Daniel Garcia willingly unmasked during a match to protest a contract dispute, an unprecidented action for a luchador.
