Description
OBOW: Pronounced "oboe" (yes, like the instrument), it stands for "Overseer's Balance Overhaul for Weapons".

This is a script that completely rebalances the Pistols' stats, rechambering them into a .45 caliber handgun. It is recommended to use this alongside an applicable Colt 1911 or other .45 replacer, for immersion's sake.

These pistols will be powerful backup weapons, at the expense of smaller magazine size. They will gib Commons, killing them in a single shot, have twice the piercing of my 9mm script [ https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1133598532 ]. Recoil was increased to match the increase in caliber, but it's still manageable. Note that these guns are NOT unbalanced.

Here's the list of stat changes:

@Killbourne:
Did you check if the mod is ticked in your in-game Addons menu, and that it's not conflicting (coloured red)?

I can't use the script or something? Everytime I load in I still have the same weapon stats

@Pierre Cauchon:
This is correct, yes. I went mad back in the day with all my Pistol scripts that use Magnum ammo, specifically because I liked L4D2's gibbing system, and pistol/SMG ammo felt like shooting paintballs. Since I found out how to borrow headshot gibbing from the Realism gamemode and stuck that into my Dead World Gamemode mod, I made the healthier balance decision recently with my preferred Pistol mod to rather keep the original ammo type, since oneshotting Commons with an infinite ammo, fast-firing backup weapon inherently overlaps with the Desert Eagle, especially the Gritty Realism one.

I'm playing on Advanced with this, while using "Gritty Realism" for magnum - this script straight up makes Deagle obsolete. You have fast-firing, dead-ass accurate (like all of your scripts, which is one of the main reasons I like them) starter weapon with 8+8 rounds that one-shots commons. Whenever a special appears - I crouch and dump as many rounds in it's general direction as I have and even Chargers die rather quickly. And with 16 round in two pistols, it's a decent horde buster too, to the point of neglecting melee weapons actually becomes a viable option for tough rush events. Bottom line - it's more effective than Desert Eagle at fighting hordes, while being on par in terms of dealing with special, giving me no reason to ever pick Deagle over these.

So I was thinking about using this but the 1911 is a standard 7 round magazine so its a little odd to have 8 also you said it has twice the penetration of your 9mm Im not sure how much you know about the .45 caliber but that round is a bigger round and thus slower with something like 850fps while the 9mm is 1100 or so. The .45 is a heavy hitter but does not actually have that much penetration. The 9mm Cartridge actually has more penetration because its smaller and fired at a higher Velocity. So doubling the Penetration for the .45 would be extremely inaccurrate. If you wanted to make them the same thats one thing because penetration tests have been close with various ammos but for the most part the 9 at higher velocity has greater penetration on materials.

could it be possible to upload a version that doesn't effect the reload times? it's messing up the animations i use.

@POS 4-5:
Yes, my mod only changes the weapon's scripts, so it will still work if you use any mod on the workshop to change the looks. Hope this helps. :)
