Description
OBO, pronounced "oboe" (yes, like the instrument), stands for "Overall Balance Overhaul."

This is a script that rebalances the AK-47 (technically an AKM) more neatly alongside the other ARs.

The good old Kalashnikov was a bit oddly placed in vanilla, being extremely powerful on Normal with its single shot Common kills, and yet a bit weak on Advanced, requiring two. And it's back to being powerful again on Expert as the only AR capable of two-shotting Commons.

And yet, at the same time, it also far outperformed the M16 in DPS. Sure, its accuracy sucked, but that just meant that a laser-sighted AK-47 was the best gun in the game hands-down. From a balance perspective, the AK was a bit of a nightmare, but I didn't want to nerf it into oblivion, so I came up with a solution. I buffed the other Rifles in separate mods (see the above collections), then tweaked this weapon to fit into a place of its own.

While the M16 was, and is the go-to weapon for frontline versatility, the AK is now special too, having raw damage and higher sustainability (length of fire before running dry), and it's low fire rate makes placing shots into hordes easier. It does however, now have slightly LESS DPS than my OBO M16 and worse accuracy, though I made slightly more accurate than the painful vanilla stats, since using this gun felt like a chore at times, having to constantly stop and crouch to kill distant Commons.

The idea here was to make the AK fit into its role without its incredible damage/DPS and terrible accuracy. There are many smaller edits too, like tweaked vertical kick and firing spreads, all listed below.

Yes, unlike most of my mods, this one does include a slight nerf to damage, but you won't feel it. It still kills Commons in two shots even on Expert difficulty, as well as Specials in the exact same number of shots as the original gun, and it even got a slight rate of fire increase, so it's better against hordes than vanilla. The damage nerf just makes the DPS against Tanks and Witches more inline with the other ARs.

Not sure if you'll read this, but your scripts have made L4D so much better, IMO.
