Oh, no, I already solved it the intended way. I just saw so much unintended stuff I could do, I wanted to see if I could solve the level using hardly anything at all, just as an extra challenge.

try playing in order, using all the elements.
the exit door button has antlines & are both visible from the gel chamber.
the pit in the high goo area, does have gel available. look down, from the pit.
(as long as you turned off the fizzler, when you were in the gel room)
all buttons, should be essential.
all essential butons have signage or antlines.
only 1 round trip, is permited:
the goo below, can only be crossed once.
the gel room, will then be off limits.

Alternatively, if I knew what button opens that floor panel at the entrance, I might be able to use that to get to the bottom room and take an extra trip through for the exit button. Unfortunately, I suspect it's the exit button itself...

Ah nuts. So much for my attempt to solve the puzzle without most of its elements. I managed to get to the start of the high goo using only the funnels, gel, and a lot of seam glitch (and no gel for that bouncy-walled pit button), but I just can't find a way to press the button to open the exit door without the funnels and glass panel on a track. I'm doing that part of the puzzle backward, and I just fall down a deep shaft into the moat every time. I've tried snagging the edge of the un-angled wall panel for a grip, but no luck. I can land on the laserfield emitter, but then there's nowhere to go but dead.

Maybe I'll make a horrible, harder version and put a faith plate up to the exit button there. That's probably all I need at this point. Well, that and a way back without drowning, but I was hoping the windowsill would be close enough to jump across. It looks like it isn't quite, though.

yes, it's designed so:
you knew how to exit. you just did not know you knew :)
the reaching the exit earlier, a different method, stops the subconcious from thinking about it.
so can cause a tempory mental block.

Excellent ride! Loved the save by conceptor part (over bottom room goo)! Happy to see that there was another part up there. And the end part got me for some time...until tada moment! Very nice!
