Hello, today a skin that I was planning to create for quite some time now, finally managed to pull it off! And to even pull it off with full hand painted normal map incorporated.



This skin composition is designed around the rear of the slide shape, which worked very fine for me as a head for some kind of creature with spikey ears, round horns and in need of saber teeth in front. This kind of creature happened to be a gargoyle which is a theme that I also wanted to use on a skin for quite some time now and I really liked the way "Gargoyle" sounds kinda like "Deser-eagle", or to easier explain - it just fitted for me. :P

Once I had the head sketched I have seen the posibilities for the rest of gargoyle sculpture going down the grip and despite the fact that I was aware it wouldn't be visible too often in game I just thought that it will look so cool that it is worth it - there it is, really huge amount of bare handpaint for the normal map to look the way it looks. Rest of the gun has been decorated in motives inspired from gothic and victorian architecture. The font in front is one of the base Photoshop fonts that I own the license to use, since I do own a legit PS subscription. :)

The roman number engraved into marble on the rear of the grip means 1979 - the year Desert Eagle has been designed.

Everything but the font has been created by me from the scrap for the use in this design, hope you like the design and the effort put into it is noticeable. :)
