The aftermath of the battle for Red Planet has left a power-vacuum and disrupted ownership claims over the entire Mars sector. Multiple Corporations moved in to seize this opportunity and the need for Special Operations trained battle engineers soared...

(inspired by the events from the SF novel: Janitors of the Late Space Age)

Special Operations Frigate is designed to quickly and safely deliver a team of battle-engineers to the planet's surface. It is equipped with dual jump drives to quickly accomplish this task and then escape back to safety.

It carries two HALO insertion pods that each carries two engineers. The pods are armed with a gatling turret to overcome light defenses and the parachute will only open at around 400 meters to avoid enemy fire.

Next, there is the mobile refinery, the tested Production Core unit. It can go over any terrain and it has an advanced refinery, oxygen generator, assembler and even a medbay in one compact, mobile package.

Finally, there is the deployable base that serves as an outpost for battle engineers on the field. It can also be attached to an asteroid or dropped from orbit. Equipped with a laser antenna to avoid detection but still keep in touch with the frigate, located in the upper atmosphere.

The frigate itself is more than just a delivery craft – it can go as low as 0.15G and maybe even lower, thanks to its powerful dorsal thrusters. There it can survey the surface and act as a long distance communication gateway for the planetside team. It is fully equipped to support a small team of commandos.

1. Get into the gravity field of a planet that has an atmosphere
2. Drop it like it's hot
3. Evade combat with dual jump drives
