The problem is one of the CS Anuradhapura is the capital of Sri Lanka led by Dutugamunu, a civ/mod I'm developing (port of Civ V version).

@-Dl- Blkbutterfly maybe you can avoid name repetition instead of change other's name. But maybe it is not a significant problem. BTW nice work of your mod.

Though I don't know what actually happened I argue for more discussion and communication before a mod is made.

In my opinion I think it is OK if one did't copy other's artwork and code.
And I suggest that you join our "the Great Asia" project and locate those city states on the Asia map

Suppose it's the Cherokee.

The rights to the names of Cherokee cities (and use of a likeness to their leader) belong to the Cherokee people. So if @thecrazyscotsman develops a mod TCS Cherokee City States he's misappropriating their culture.

As Steam doesn't charge for mods, his IP has zero $ value.

Collective IP is legally recognised in the US for indigenous peoples in some cases. Also in Australia. IDK details TBH.

So a Cherokee wouldn't need his permission to develop a mod of Cherokee if he wished. In fact by using Cherokee city names @thecrazyscotsman actually gives the right to a Cherokee to modify/patch his TCS Cherokee City States mod

Interesting mod, and discussions.I think it's important u devs work on things like TLS together rather than "permission".
BTW Indians do think of other countries' agenda in a ridiculous way. So faq India lol.And build more toilets plz, my co-parteners complain about it a lot.
