Description
OBO: Pronounced "oboe" (yes, like the instrument), it stands for "Overseer's Balance Overhaul for Weapons".

This is a script that rebalances the M60 bonus weapon. In vanilla, this weapon had about the same DPS as the default AK-47, which struck me as odd. I personally hated throwing away a good primary weapon just to have a temporary M60, and found myself leaving it behind repeatedly, and that's not how it's supposed to be. You're supposed to be excited when finding an M60, and that's what this mod aims to remedy. Besides, an increase in DPS as opposed to a standard primary weapon is justified, because the M60 is inherently a temporary weapon.

This particular script is aimed at those who prefer the default M60 style, with its slow fire rate and super-gibbing Commons. It retains its default ammo type, but has a larger magazine to encourage more liberal use over saving ammo. Additionally, if you use this alongside my Dead World gamemode (see the above collections), you will also have a backup of 200 rounds reserve ammo, which I highly recommend.

Stat-wise, the M60 now has the highest true DPS of all non-mounted weapons due to not needing to interrupt its bullet stream with reloads. I've made a few other minor changes too, such as making it less accurate while standing (but slightly more accurate while crouching). All changes are listed below.

Unfortunately, reserve ammo is part of the gamemode script, not the weapon script, so you'll need something like my Dead World gamemode mod or a comparable mod for that.

Yeah, it's a bit of a pity, isn't it? We've got all kinds of M60 mods, even miniguns, but no .50BMG HMGs. Such a pity...

There isn't even existing M2HB replader for the M60 anyway. I figured if one was to ever be published to the workshop, it would be from Lt. Rocky.

Yes, I am well aware. This mod is just a script that modifies the behaviour of the M60 to work like an M2HB. :)
