Description
OBOW: Pronounced "oboe" (yes, like the instrument), it stands for "Overseer's Balance Overhaul for Weapons".

This is a script that turns the Grenade Launcher into a China Lake pump-action grenade launcher. Now, in real life, a China Lake has a three-round tube magazine (like many shotguns). However, this script gives it a four-round magazine to account for one grenade in the chamber. This is for gameplay reasons, as a three-round Grenade Launcher doesn't make much sense to me, gameplay wise. And yes, it is semi automatic, but the China Lake weapon mod I play with uses a pump animation between shots which is awesome.

NOTE: Changing damage on the Grenade Launcher doesn't do anything, since the Grenade Launcher's damage stats are stored in the gamemodes.txt file, and not in this weapon's one. If you want a damage increase along with a rebalanced and tweaked L4D2, get my gamemode.

Nah, my plan is to make the Grenade Launcher have a higher damage output against a Tank than any "normal" primary weapon. Which makes sense, actually, since you're throwing grenades at it. I also plan on readjusting my M60 scripts' damages... again... for the same outcome. Those two guns need to be worth replacing a primary weapon for.

Anyway, I think that's enough modding for one night. I'm off to bed (It's 11:16pm where I am). If you have any other suggestions, about this or any of my mods, feel free to speak your mind. :)

As long as the damage doesn't make it feel like you're firing a glorified nerf gun at a thing that hits like a freight train and one shots you in Expert.

Yes, the Tank's health goes from 4000 on Normal to I think 8000 on Expert. Don't worry, I'll account for that if and when I rebalance the grenade damage. :)

Doesn't the Tank's health vary on difficulty? Which, I normally play on Normal when I'm on my own.

Sounds good. Just keep in mind that I plan on doing more thorough experimentation on grenade damage against all kinds of enemies, and I'm planning on a fairly large damage nerf. I like my Tanks tough, ya know? I'll probably set the damage to a point where it'll kill a Charger in one (or maybe two) shots.

Seems alright from a first impression perspective when I played the finale of No Mercy. Felt great destroying a Tank with three to four shots without a long reload in between the shots.

As stated above, this is just a script. You'll need to go get a China Lake weapon replacer mod separately. This is the one used in my screenshots:
