Hello

Just a quick mod to lower the production costs of buildings and the Cost/Upkeep of units in Fall of the Samurai.

Just felt the cost of Units and Buildings in FOTS was a bit high but rather than make it stupidly easy, I tried to lower them a reasonable amount (Some more than others). This isn't a messy non-price stat change or anything like that, things like that could come in the future.

Quick rundown of the changes:

~~~Non-castle/defences building prices reduced by approximately 30%.~~~

No real reason on the amount other than minor OCD and a full half seemed a bit over the top.

~~~Tower Defenses prices reduced by 75%.~~~

I never used these in my first FOTS game, the prices seemed a bit much for the lost construction place so lowered them quite significantly. Once i've finished playing with the editor I might actually find out how to increase how many construction slots Town slots give you...

~~~Castle Upgrades prices reduced by 50%.~~~

Simple like it says, this is just a preference will make early province control easier, I was thinking of lowering the construction time too on castles but think this would make it too easy.

~~~Unit Costs reduced by 30%.~~~

See Non-castle/defences building prices reduced by approximately 30% reason.

~~~Units Upkeep reduced by 50%.~~~

I feel this is too much of a strain on the player in the early game, where as the computer just spams out soldiers... Thinking of my first Satsuma game... Saga had 3 provinces and a military comparable to my 20 province empire. I know that isn't early game but W-T-F.



If anyone actually uses this any feedback would be great. I Just wanted a bog standard price reduction without loads of AI mods and added units.

@Rhya - I'm going to be honest, I haven't touched this in over 10 years. But I was late to playing Shogun 2. In Theory it should don't think any more factions were added to FotS after this.

@CervicalSpear - Yea been a hell of a lot of other total wars since this one, still imo one of the better historical ones by far.

@Snevgull - Thats strange the only thing that could really "break" it is any "big" mods that also change the spreadsheet I did. Any of the big rebalance mods will do that as they both overrule each other and both won't boot at best or crash at worse. What other mods did you use?

@Cpt -British We made sure that we both had the exact same mods but it still said that we had incorrect versions

@CervicalSpear the only "big" update that was done after I did this was the Otomo I believe (Don't quote me on that its been a few years...) so as far as i'm aware onto the Otomo's faction units shouldn't be in this mod.
