Whoopee the Fry Cook

Description
"Beats minimum wage"

Whoopee Bernard, beleagured fry cook, joins the cast of Don't Starve! Armed with nothing but a spatula, his wits, and an intimate knowledge of fast food preparation, he's great for those who would rather everyone else, be they fellow survivors or locals bribed with greasy meats, do the fighting while they manage the camp.

Stats and Perks:
Health: 125
Hunger: 175
Sanity: 200

Due to his general distaste for working with food all day (despite his talent for it), Whoopee doesn't have much of an appetite, and loses hunger 20% slower than normal. However, he also doesn't care much for his own cooking, and so he recieves less health and sanity from his selection of craftable burgers.

Whoopee isn't too physically active either, and hits only 75% as hard as the baseline set by Wilson. If you're planning on adventuring into dangerous territory, it'd be a good idea to bring a bodyguard or two along.

Whoopee's true passion lies in astronomy, and as such, he actually regenerates sanity at night, when the stars are in view. Of course, this only applies when he's near a light source.

Whoopee is also able to craft a number of items, both edible and inedible, found in his own "Fry Cook" crafting tab.

Whoopee's Cap:
Requires a Science Machine to prototype
4 Petals, 2 Silk
Whoopee's namesake whoopee cap, this handy headpiece keeps one's appetite in check, slowing it by 15%, as well as restoring sanity by 3.3 per minute, lasting for 15 days

Sweet Apron:
Requires a Science Machine to prototype
2 Silk, 2 Cut Grass, 2 Rope
Part of the Sweetie Shakes kitchen uniform, this front-mounted splash guard provides 120 points of insulation from heat, and 35% protection from wetness, as well as restoring sanity by 2 per minute, lasting for 15 days

Sweet Spatula:
1 Twig, 2 Flint
A run-of-the-mill kitchen utensil, this patty flipper can be used for self-defense in a pinch, dealing 27.2 damage per hit and lasting for 100 hits. Of course, it also lets potential customers know that you're the source of all the tasty sandwiches, and will extend the length of time that followers follow you, as long as you feed them while holding it.

Space-tula:
Requires an Alchemy Engine to prototype
1 Tiny Rocketship, 2 Moon Rocks
A marvel in kitchen engineering, this space-age spatula functions much like its primitive brother, dealing modest damage and extending follower time, but will never break. As well, being given the opportunity to even hold such a futuristic utensil in one's own hand will restore one's sanity by 4.4 per minute.

Bun:
2 Seeds, 1 Egg
Grants 2 Buns/craft
Stacks up to 40
Restores 10 Hunger
The home for any good burger, these buns are a decided improvement over the old makeshift grass "buns" Whoopee originally had to work with.

Of course, what would a fry cook be without burgers to cook and serve?

Burger:
1 Bun, 1 Cooked Meat, 1 Cooked Green Cap
Stacks up to 10
Restores 50 Hunger, 10 Health, and 20 Sanity (Whoopee only recieves 5 Health and 10 Sanity)

Veggie Burger:
1 Bun, 1 Cooked Leafy Meat, 1 Cooked Blue Cap
Stacks up to 10
Restores 40 Hunger, 30 Health, and 15 Sanity (Whoopee only revieves 20 Health and 5 Sanity)

Monster Burger:
1 Bun, 1 Cooked Monster Meat, 1 Cooked Red Cap
Stacks up to 10
Restores 40 Hunger, 5 Health, and 5 Sanity (Whoopee recieves no health or sanity)

Slider:
1 Bun, 1 Cooked Morsel, 1 Petals
Stacks up to 20
Restores 15 Hunger, 5 Health, and 5 Sanity (Whoopee recieves no health or sanity)

(It might interest you to know that a certain co-worker of Whoopee's will recieve double the health and sanity from each of these burgers)

Whoopee will spawn into a new world with Whoopee's Cap, the Sweet Apron, and the Sweet Spatula, as well as a Green Spore and the components for a single Mushroom Planter (though you will still need a Science Machine to construct it)

Thanks goes out to Eevelion and members of the Klei forums for helping me code, bugtest, and troubleshoot, as well as to SenseiDezzy for doing all of the art.

Be sure to check out Scrunchie, Whoopee's friend and coworker!

They're also not as healthy as real burgers, but it can be overlooked because Don't Starve is a game of magic and mayhem. One might be able to make the argument that leafymeat is actually good for you, rather than being an unholy mishmash of soy byproducts and synthetic seed oils. :steamhappy:

I see, makes sense. Thanks for the answer ^^

The veggie burger is meant to be the "health item", and to balance it against the normal one it restores slightly less sanity. It also stems from the personal belief that, generally speaking, veggie burgers just don't taste quite as good as actual beef burgers.

Just for curiosity, but why does the veggie burger heal less sanity than the burger?

Lol, yeah
Tried to figure out how to do the "bun", and I figured buns are made with flour, flour's made from wheat, and wheat's a type of grass.
