Beskrivelse
Intended for mass-production, this cheap fighter can easily be transported inside larger ships. It is nimble, has decent firepower and it's super-small.

As we know already, life is cheap in Space Engineers – but ships are expensive. To preserve a continuous conflict, every fleet needs expendable fighters to test out the enemy without putting its best ships into danger.

S F Fighter fills this role well.

No special instructions – press 1 to unfold the "wings". Timer block will automatically block the pistons for easy piloting.
-------

This build is inspired by science fiction novel titled "Janitors of the Late Space Age" which was in turn inspired by Space Engineers (i-i-inception).

After the battle of the Red Planet, multitude of Earth's corporations stepped in to claim a chunk of the lawless surface of Mars. S F Fighter was mass-produced and shipped in bulk as a cheap defense option.
-------

If you love reading and you love Space Engineers you can check out the novel that I’ve written inspired by this game. The novel is titled "Janitors of the Late Space Age" and you can get it from Amazon as an electronic book or paperback.

I would like to see your take someday on a cheap but effective fighter that is all one grid instead of multigrids.

@Kermit - as of now, Space Engineers does not support multiple grid projections. Anything on the outer end of pistons and rotors will not be projected. The only solution at the moment is to add those parts by hand.

I have a problem. It says these things can be mass produced. Im assuming that ment using a ship printer but when i put the bluprint in the projector it wont project the weapon things on the side. it says "multiple grids are not supported. only the largest grid willl be used" plz help

the backstory im working on places it a few years past the events it the book, so everyone has the tech and is competing to reach the farthest first.

My current work actually has it based out in the kuiper belt, a bit out past the orbit of pluto. for planetoids i'm gonna try to make some based on pluto and charon, as well as probably Eris and a few other small planetoids. there is going to be a large station there acting as a staging outpost for sending ships outside the solar system to nearby stars, and if i can build my server the way i wan't i'll have a few different star systems like Tau Ceti and Gliese 876.

@To Atrosa - I'm in for some world building. Maybe create Mars/Deimos/Phobos world with the Clutter belt and ruins on the surface. The only obstacle I see are limitations imposed by the sheer scope of it and with the current engine the game is using.

@parkasever I am currently working on trying to build me a new gaming pc/server, and i am going to be working on a world for the server based on the epilogue of your book. i wanna call it "JotLSA: New Space Custodians", and would like to collaborate with you on it if possible. what do you think?
