I would like to see your take someday on a cheap but effective fighter that is all one grid instead of multigrids.

so smart!

this little bugger is so unstable during flight XD

stackable forbidable fighter

@Kermit - as of now, Space Engineers does not support multiple grid projections. Anything on the outer end of pistons and rotors will not be projected. The only solution at the moment is to add those parts by hand.

I have a problem. It says these things can be mass produced. Im assuming that ment using a ship printer but when i put the bluprint in the projector it wont project the weapon things on the side. it says "multiple grids are not supported. only the largest grid willl be used" plz help

the backstory im working on places it a few years past the events it the book, so everyone has the tech and is competing to reach the farthest first.

My current work actually has it based out in the kuiper belt, a bit out past the orbit of pluto. for planetoids i'm gonna try to make some based on pluto and charon, as well as probably Eris and a few other small planetoids. there is going to be a large station there acting as a staging outpost for sending ships outside the solar system to nearby stars, and if i can build my server the way i wan't i'll have a few different star systems like Tau Ceti and Gliese 876.

@To Atrosa - I'm in for some world building. Maybe create Mars/Deimos/Phobos world with the Clutter belt and ruins on the surface. The only obstacle I see are limitations imposed by the sheer scope of it and with the current engine the game is using.

@parkasever I am currently working on trying to build me a new gaming pc/server, and i am going to be working on a world for the server based on the epilogue of your book. i wanna call it "JotLSA: New Space Custodians", and would like to collaborate with you on it if possible. what do you think?
Tyo Atrosa 11 Oct, 2017 @ 2:55pm
now make a hydrogen version to fly on planets :P

It has got to be some kind of war crime to say a ship with moving parts is meant for mass-production.
JallBuggler 11 Oct, 2017 @ 6:52am
nice ship, you got extendable confused with foldable though, otherwise great ships.
parkasever  [author] 11 Oct, 2017 @ 1:42am
@Gyrexion - Stack 15 of them and drive them as a compact spacecraft to where you wanna go - no carrier needed!
Gyrexion 11 Oct, 2017 @ 12:11am
can you make a carrier for these
Venom415 8 Oct, 2017 @ 6:04am
Pretty unique design! Looks great
JCapt 7 Oct, 2017 @ 4:13pm
Ah. That makes more sense. Good idea.
parkasever  [author] 7 Oct, 2017 @ 3:57pm
@Son o'Petrified - same as with X-Wing, I guess. Spreading out the shots over a wider area against larger targets.
JCapt 7 Oct, 2017 @ 12:51pm
Looks great parkasever! What is the purpose of the pistons though?
parkasever  [author] 6 Oct, 2017 @ 11:28pm
@NordicBeast - I think in survival it's still an issue, and on servers, like you said - as you rarely use blueprints but assemble things "on the go". Blueprints are safe because they are tested and you can pre-calibrate things like minimum distance and similar.
NordicBeast 6 Oct, 2017 @ 11:03pm
Agreed, it's far better then it was. But on deticated servers it's still an issue.
parkasever  [author] 6 Oct, 2017 @ 9:43pm
@NordicBeast - Last time I had a problem with Clang was... over a year ago. Recent updates and safety-lock feature almost eliminated the danger on pistons and rotors so I am using them more often in my builds.
NordicBeast 6 Oct, 2017 @ 9:06pm
Very simple, I like the design and idea behind it, for klang reasonings you might want to consider a version without pistons and maybe just conveyer tubes.
Dr. Distortion 6 Oct, 2017 @ 8:34pm
WOW... Just wow.
J4R 6 Oct, 2017 @ 8:35am
Dude, this thing is brilliant, although I don't fancy the extendable wings a lot because they don't serve much purpose in SE. But the stackable fighter idea is just gold, I had to keep myslef from laughing as I saw it because, let's face it, STACKABLE FIGHTERS ARE AWESOME! Why did no one think of that before??
parkasever  [author] 6 Oct, 2017 @ 7:42am
OBJECTION! The timer block automatically blocks both pistons for easy piloting.
Copycat80 6 Oct, 2017 @ 7:36am
you are a brave man putting pistons on moving objects
