DFC Aries (Modless)

The Aries Multi-Enviornmental Fighter was developed late in the war with the Imperium, using old, proven technologies. Capable of high acceleration, and with an above average standard armament, it was designed for quick, devistating attacks, after which it would return to saftey before the enemy could react.

While exceling at hit and run attacks on light targets, the lack of shields and reenforced armor make it entirely reliant on speed and maneuverability. In the end, this craft mostly saw service escorting bombers and dropships in and out of atmosphere. A dull job, but one that needed filling as other fighter craft up to this point were either entirely space born or limited to atmosphere, creating a vulnerable zone in which the Imperium's Dreadfighter swarm ruled with impunity.
