No 35: Octopus Laser 2013 Challenge!

In 1 collection by daloboy
3D Laser Puzzles
20 items
Description
Medium difficulty (Hard if you are Big Moustache)

Just one laser emitter and a lot of reflecting cubes manipulation to access the exit! F6!

Start by the room under the exit...
Patience, patience and patience! And F6!
#F4F

Note: when facing the entrance door, the upper room on the left, you must be very near the center of the cube behind the glass, so the laser stays stable for the whole challenge!

Thank you for your comment Prototype! I'll look at your demo tonight.

My solution (I'd rate it easy difficulty, then again I didn't solve as intended): https://www.dropbox.com/s/kbg5z1u9qz7llsz/octopuslaser2.dem I really like the idea and shape, but don't like being forced into one solution. The hallways that you "must" point the laser down aren't very nice. Also I think 8 little "rooms" is too many, with them all looking very similar it's quite easy to get lost.

#F4F Here's a hard one of mine: Geltastic

Thanks Aardvark64, but I did not use that trick! I use another cube to "manipulate" the other, physically!

daloboy. I just watched your walkthrough and now I see why you needed that tractor beam.
You must have used my method of rolling cubes, I think, if you did my Forgotten Abbey correctly? You just stand on the cube and move slowly backwards. The cube will roll back with you as you slip off the edge. Then you can kick it into place! No tractor beam required :)

Interesting comment Aardvark64! I did not anticipate your way to roll it! I'll have to look at that! Thanks.

Another winner, great fun for me. At one point I had to respawn a cube because it was no longer solid and I could pick it up but I couldn't stand on it to roll it over??
I haven't watched your walkthrough yet but I didn't understand the need for the tractor beam which could be reversed on a timer. I didn't use it at all. Was that correct?
