Description
Case #12: HQ

The flames roar to life.

Filled to the brim
with demon guards.
Help, but don't leave
with the lights dimmed.

The flames want me to break into corporation HQ and steal some info from their safe.

[Mission]
Find information.

[Intel]
The base is heavily guarded. 6 snipers and dozens of guards. There are lots of vents I can use to avoid them.

[Weapon Rooms]
The candles are keeping all their weapons in rooms on the fifth and sixths floors. If I need more ammo, I can take it from there.

[Lightswitch]
The sixth floor has a light switch that turns off all the lights on that floor. Using it can save me ammo and time.

--BONUS CHALLENGE--

Clear "HQ" using only the scythe.

Author's Opinion: I'm quite happy with this level. It has changed lots since I started it.

Also spoilers for the level itself. I suggest playing it before reading this.

So it started with the mission being to simply break into the corporation's base. I already had the layout in mind: it would be a a tower that would get thinner as it got taller. Forming a pyramid shape. All of the walls would be soft white. The idea is that candles hire demons to protect them, so they would be the main enemies.

After starting the level, I realized how uninspired it was. I had just made a tall level a few weeks ago and making all of the walls exactly the same would look ugly and boring. So, for only the second time ever, I scrapped everything and tried something else. The main inspiration for this new version of HQ was the level "Sir Stela" from the original game. Where someone else has gotten to the mission before you have. It was still about breaking into the base, but had a more interesting and unique shape. As well as a variety of wall choices. Also a spoopy OC.

I also got to experiment with something that I've been wanting to do for a while: making enemies that are walking around because they've seen a corpse. I'll probably do something similar in like 4, 12 or 18 levels or something.
