In 1961, Torikku introduced the IHU, a four wheeled micro car that instantly became popular in the Asian market. Demand was very high in Europe for a small car to toot around town, so Atomica came to the rescue with the Piccolo, a three-wheeled microcar. It featured stylish white and red paint, as well as a one stroke engine that provided a surprising amount of power for the time, easily getting the little car up to about forty miles an hour, the speed limit in Italy at the time.
