gZen HUD

Description
(Type !gz or /gz in chat for settings)
This is a complete HUD replacement for Garrys Mod, it removes all numbers and text and replaces them with simple visual cues centred around the crosshair, it is very intuitive, clean and worth trying to see for yourself...

The inner ring surrounding the crosshair is the ammo bar. it starts transparent yellow for full ammo and changes to opaque red as your magazine empties.

the middle ring surrounding the crosshair is the health bar, it starts transparent green for full health and changes to opaque red as your health lowers. If you reach health greater than 100 (for instance by eating the bouncy balls in fun+games) it will fill again with a white circle up to 200 health.

the outer ring is your armour. when you charge your sheild it starts opaque cyan and changes to transparent dark blue as your shield charges.

The crosshair starts out bright cyan, and changes to red when an NPC is targeted, green when a player is targeted, and darker blue when an entity is targeted.

The four 'pips' inside the crosshair represent remaining magazines for the current weapon. if you have four or more full reloads left, the crosshair will be full. as you go through 3, 2, 1 and no remaining magazines for the current wepaon, the 'pips' will disapear one by one to indicate the remaining reloads you have.
In cases of weapons without magazines, e.g. the halflife RPG or grenade, there is no ammo circle around the crosshair, instead the four pips represent remaining rockets, grenades etc...

if the HUD isnt displaying for any reason, try doubletapping Esc or the Console key to bring it back.

If you experience issues with this, please let me know so i can fix them! it should work with ALL CURRENT SWEPS without any issues, it has been tested with a vast number with no issues. If you like it or have any comments let me know too!

glad you liked it <3 ngl its crazy that its still working 12 years later! Yeah it can be a little odd for some weapon packs, this hud was made for a specific server but it was a nice little idea so i uploaded it separately. you can make it hide when you ADS but youd need to know a little lua to add that hook :)

Also have a suggestion: Display a little number next to the HUD that tells you how much ammo is in reserve!! I do notice there is a little indicator that tells you if you have 4 or less reloads left in the reserve, but it is quite subtle!!

I can't believe I haven't stumbled across this before!!

This is everything I want in a HUD!!! Although, I do wish it took a more generic style (arctic's radial binds styled).

It also does look a little weird with weapons that have the ADS feature.

@Sneak That's OK. I can survive without updates.

@genji - very glad to hear you like it! and you're right - I definately could do better. but to be brutally honest, this has generated 630 subs and $0 in donations over 5 years, and I dont play gmod anymore, so its very unlikely its going to happen =/
