Description
OBOW: Pronounced "oboe" (yes, like the instrument), it stands for "Overseer's Balance Overhaul for Weapons".

This is a script that upgrades the Chrome Shotgun, aiming for a realistic approach to shotguns that game designers seem globally allergic to, bar a few. Please be aware that this script will function very differently if compared to my other Chrome Shotgun Rebalance mod.

The jist is that it now functions like a real-world shotgun would. It has an accurate magazine size and incredibly tight spread, (even tighter than my Pump Shotgun Gritty Realism mod), and has a small damage boost to compensate for fewer shots before reload. This is the only non-slug shotgun script in my entire collection that has enough damage to kill Common with a single pellet, regardless of difficulty. This combined with the tight spread makes it a perfect medium-range eliminator of any target, big or small. It's downsides are a bit weaker damage per second than semi-auto shotguns, and a narrow spread is harmful to horde-clearing.

Overall, this is a drastic change that was never considered in the game design for L4D2, but I have still managed to achieve some semblance of balance with it, and I'm happy with it. I hope you will be too.

ReloadDuration - 0.473 to 0.2 (Changing this does nothing, not sure why)
DeployDuration - ? to 0.3 (Vanilla value unknown, since I had to add this line)
PenetrationNumLayers - 2 to 4
PenetrationPower - 30 to 67
PenetrationMaxDistance - 500 to UNCHANGED
Damage - 31 to 114
Range - 3000 to UNCHANGED
RangeModifier - 0.7 to UNCHANGED
Bullets - 8 to UNCHANGED
CycleTime - 0.5 to 0.1 (Changing this does nothing, not sure why)
clip_size - 8 to UNCHANGED
primary_ammo - AMMO_TYPE_SHOTGUN to AMMO_TYPE_AUTOSHOTGUN

Ok i have to admit this mod makes the chrome shotgun a high risk and high reward on expert mode if you shoot a teammate (point blank range or close range) they don't go incap mode they just die

Nah, not really. My gamemode mods only buff Boss Infected (Tank and Witch) HPs. All Special infected have either been left untouched or had their HP reduced, because some, like the Charger and Jockey, could tank unrealistically.

Aren't these made for your difficulty mod? Because I remember you saying that one time and it made sense since your difficulty mod made enemies tankier.

Yeah, it's a little OP at the moment, but it's on my to-do list to go through all my mods and balance them. It's really difficult for one person to keep track and balance all my mods though, because many of them are user requests like this one that I don't personally use. Still, I'm going to go through my less-used scripts and see about balancing them a bit.

The end idea is that I want the Gritty Realism pump-action shotguns to have more damage per shot than the semi-auto ones, and the semi-auto ones to have more DPS.

You’ve turned an underpowered weapon into an overpowered one with this script! The old shotgun did far too little damage for its pathetic rate of fire, reload speed and very limited ammo. But giving this weapon such a huge damage boost makes killing tanks and witches trivial on Normal; so why not change it to an intermediate value like 62 or 65 damage per pellet? It would still be a good gun to play with.

As it is, your add-on makes the chrome shotgun stronger than the Tier-2 shotguns for taking out tanks and other SI—which is a bit counteintuitive.
