Country House #2

Description
A second version of a country house (American style / semi-Victorian in part). Similar to the first house I built, this model utilizes the same style of architecture, but I tried to expand on the ideas of curved porches and more liveable attic. The front of this building is positioned in such a way that cars should be able to utilize the driveway "behind" the house.

I tried to give the house a theme as if a large family lives there, reminiscent of a Depression Era House but done in the modern age.

(2x1 lot size)

Rooms:
3/4 bedrooms, considering that there are beds thrown in the attic for the theme I was after
2 bathrooms
Parlor
Dining Room
Living Room
Kitchen/Washroom
Semi-loft

Bonus! A drop-in chimney! :D

Response to comments:

The tags serve two aims. First, they are more for the Great Depression era throwback. This style of architecture was for certain buildings built during that time. And, given that context, I do know from semi-personal experience that wooden paneling on the exterior of a house sees a lot of rot after a few years/decades of it’s not maintained, which is what I would imagine would happen of these types of houses for almost 80-90 years later.

Second, and without trying to give away too much on personal details, I’m basing this style after architectural features on houses I remember seeing inside West Virginia and Central Pennsylvania. In that respect, those regions do have houses like this that are used by generally lower, working class families in this day and age.

However, I have never stepped inside the houses I saw, so I do agree with both of you when I say the interior serves a different purpose and look. For my tags, I merely want to highlight the exterior building aspects. Here, it is very likely you would have middle class in there with an interior done up and remodeled as such! My only goal with interior was to simulate having a large family living together.

I have to agree with bi204-1, this lot looks as close to upper-middle class as a compact lot can get!

Fantastic work, as usual.

Nikolai_Bukav,

You may have given this house "poor" and "poverty" tags, but this definitally doesn't look like a poor family's house.
