Era - 1990s / 2000s - NJPW / AJPW

One of New Japan's stalwarts during the 1990s, Hiroshi Hase had a strong background in Greco Roman wrestling and Russian Sambo, and flawlessly adapted his mat skills to pro wrestling. He was not only a technician, and fought in a number of fierce, bloody brawls, including the infamous Muta Scale match with the Great Muta, and the Island Death Match with Tiger Jeet Singh.

Hase won the IWGP Junior Heavyweight title early in his tenure, and later won tag gold teaming with Kensuke Sasaki and Keiji Mutoh. Hase would later jump to All Japan, and also won a seat in the Japanese Diet, simultaniously engaging in wrestling and poltiics.

Hase was a great all around wrestler, able to strike, fly, tie opponents up on the mat, and had an array of signature moves including the Giant Swing, a flawless Uranage that he could hit from many positions and the Northern Lights Suplex.
