Early prototypes for the Skyshield Helicarrier predate the Imperium Total War by almost a decade, and the production model is still undergoing considerable scruitny. This craft is the backbone of the Corporate's efforts, a primary capital ship operating only inside the atmosphere of a planet, offering a safe haven for harried ground attack aircraft, interceptors, or even a couple of platoons of infantry.

While not a dedicated ship-to-ship combatant, the Skyshield does posess a fair array of weapons that can knock out most small opponants. If the enemy is much bigger, the Skyshield can always turn its heavy bombardment canon skyward.

Said bombardment weapon is easily capable of removing most hardened positions before ground forces even arrive, and can entirely obliterate the Imperium's Scorpion hover tank in a single hit, even causing a fair amount of damage to any others too close to the unlucky fellow

Finally, when in drydock, the massive power generation array on the helicarrier can power a large fortress with little difficulty, this functionality is often used by Corporate commanders to bring downed shield towers online in a siege.

Notes: It's a helicarrier, yes, I know, you've seen enough of those. But this one has a big gun on it!
