Era - 1980s - NWA / WWF

A no frills brawler, "Rugged" Ron Garvin could hit like a sack of bricks and take a beating as well. Teaming with brother Jimmy Garvin, Ron became embroiled in feuds with the Four Horsemen and the Midnight Express for a large portion of his NWA career. The culmination of his tenure came when he fought Ric Flair, and defeated him for the NWA World Heavyweight title. Garvin would also have a short run in the WWF in the late 80s, fighting the Macho Man Randy Savage and Greg Valentine.

Garvin was also given boxer Roberto Duran's nickname "Hands of Stone" for his powerful knockout punches, and could be counted on to deliver his patented Garvin Stomp to work people over, literally stomping them in a full circle around the body.
