Stone Bridge

Description
A bridge built from stone to use over water or land.

* 4 squares wide and designed to fit a 2 squares wide street
* Start/end parts cost 60 stone and cover 6 squares. Middle parts cost 40 stone and span 4 squares
* Due to a basic property of the game it is not possible to walk under the bridge.

* The bridge can be built over water as well as over land, the first row of the start/end bit (where the stairs are) must be on land.

*!* The stone bridge can be built at any height.
Build the bridge start first, then all following middle and end parts will be of the same height. Build one bridge completely to the end before you put another bridge start. *!*

Special thanks to dominuskevin

Arx - Unfortunately I have to tell you that it is impossible in Forest village to have any type of building where villagers can walk under and over. It's the same for bridges as it is for wall gates and for houses (which is why there are no buildings where the villagers can walk on the lower and the upper floor). I'd love to be able to change that, but due to the way the game is programmed it is impossible :-(

(If you are interested in why it is impossible, that is because the pathfinding system in the game can not work with different height values. From the villagers' (and animals') point of view, the world is a flat 2D plane)

hey megadori is it possible for you to make something like this but for pavements where theres arches underneath and people can walk through it, and also above it?

i was considering trying out modding few weeks ago, i honestly couldnt understand it.

Scorpiogoh - There hasn't been a game update sind this mod was updated, so you can disregard a possible yellow "!" sign in the mod list for this. The game unfortunately doesn't really know if a mod needs updating, nor does an error message show whoch mod has caused a problem.
If there are problems with the building that you haven't seen before, please report in detail :-)

game says mod needs an update.

Old Soldier - Thanks for reporting back :-) If your other bridges are fine, let's call that one bug a case of natural disaster, shall we? :-D
(The issue you encountered might be caused sometimes when a game is saved during bridge construction and then loaded back up, because of the way such values as building height are being handled by this game. The height mechanic for the bridges was invented and generously shared by dominuskevin, and I don't know enough about it to know if the issue can be fixed. Fortunately, I doesn't happen often :-)

It went invisible. Like it was below the terrain or something. i was able to demolish it using Kentucky windage to guess where to put the cursor.

It was across a rather deep gorge, so maybe that was the issue. It's a great mod by the way. I've used it in other places since my post without encountering the problem. So... gremlins maybe.

Let me take the opportunity to thank you for your mod work. Well done.

Old Soldier - Uuuhhh no idea what went wrong there, to be honest! Has the bridge has completely disappeared, or may it have become invisible?

LtDutchman - Sorry for my belated answer. I'm not planning on making a wider version of the bridge, because arranging the models is a lot of work. Might the base game pavement provide a solution to your building situation?

I recently started the game, and used this mod to build a bridge, Beautiful work by the way. But when I reloaded my save game the bridge had disappeared. What did I do wrong?
