Introduction
The year is 2019. Political environment in Taiwan is getting worse and worse. The combined effort of nationalist faction and pro-independence faction threatens the already fragile situation between Taiwan and the mainland. Opinion polls show that less and less people are still supporting the idea of reunification. Within the KMT, the rivalry between several factions are tearing the KMT apart, and soon there will be no factions to contain the pro-independence sentiment in Taiwan. Soon, China's national identity will be a thing of the past in Taiwan.
Meanwhile, the Korean problem has bothered the international society for too long and is in danger of getting out of control. In order to gain China's support, Trump administration has sent envoys to Beijing for the final negotiations. During the negotiations, it is implied that should Beijing decide to settle the Taiwan issue once and for all, the United States, along with her European allies, will not perform any "actual" interventions. It seems that Taiwan's fears have come true after all: they are but a pawn in the United States' greater plans.
There are only 30 years left until the 100th anniversary of the founding of PRC. It can be forseen that the international situation will become more and more stable. It is unlikely that another chance like this would present itself again in the forseeable future. Thus, leaders of the CCP decided to seize this opportunity and finally complete the unification of the nation. And so, the plan for the assault on Taiwan was approved. On the other side of the channel, ROC government have sensed PRC's intention, and have begun preparations. The Taiwan Channel is on the brink of war.
