When Steve Austin delivered his now famous "Austin 3:16" promo after winning the 1996 King of the Ring tournament, a star was born. Austin had spent time in WCW and ECW before his WWF run, and while he had achieved modest success in his early career, he became a superstar in WWF.

His "Stone Cold" persona led to 6 WWF Championships and multiple memorable feuds, none more famous than his longtime rivalry with Vince McMahon. Austin's feud with McMahon was one of the defining moments of the Attitude Era and helped swing viewers away from rival WCW.

Inside the ring, Austinwas as tough as they come, and his roughneck style along with his charisma outside the ring and on the mic made him a household name worthy of his later WWE Hall of Fame induction.
