Designed as a short-range patrol ship or escort ship that can be carried by most large capital ships, the LE-1 is simple, maneuverable, and brings more firepower than fighters and shuttles. The LE-1 'gunboat' model brings two pylon mounted 'interior turrets' in place of rocket launchers, making it a better choice for un-manned patrol and anti-fighter duty than the LE-2.
