Description
The Achernar is a bit of a imagining of what a real-world interplanetary / interstellar vessel would look like, and as such, requires a fair bit of rationalization. (at bottom)

Game play Features of note:

* Uses a fully functional 'centrifuge' as it's living space.
* Fully automated lighting
* Very large external hanger
* Perfect center of gravity, can dock on very small spaces

Rationalization From front to rear,

The flight deck; The front of the ship most likely wouldn't contain much in the way of electronics or livable space, but would likely consist of heavy armor, and would extend to cover the whole width/height of the ship. The very front would most likely consist of a series of removable plates, suspended at a distance of a few meters, to a few kilometers (depending on the speed of the craft). These plates would have to be actively supported. At close range this could be done through heavy shock absorbent mechanisms, or magnetic suspension. At longer range, plates would be held at a distance through the use of either extremely powerful lasers, or particle streams. These precautions would be necessary to mitigate the damage caused by particle collisions. Even a grain of sand with a high enough momentum is capable of easily punching holes clean through the ISS. Vessels such as those in EGS are presumably capable of traveling at a significant fraction of the speed of light, and as such, would have serious issues with these dangers.

The Bridge; A long extension between the frontal shield and living spaces would probably exist. this space would most likely be used as a storage, and would most likely be decompressed. there are several rationals behind this. first of all, a decompressed bridge would assist in preventing unauthorized access to a frontal cockpit/ storage. Sensitive objects could be protected from possibly malicious passengers via this method. secondly a large seperation between the living area and the frontal shield would be desirable as a sort of "crumple zone" in case S**T really hit the fan. A vessel moving at any fraction of the speed of light would have a difficult time predicting impacts of large objects. and any large object would cause massive damage to the craft, a crumple zone would be a last line of defense; After forward firing Explosives to break up the objects; as evasion would not be a practical option at any significant speed.

Living Space; The primary living space would most likely consist of a centrifuge shielded within a heavily armored (lead) ring; as 'Gravity Generators' would almost definitely not exist according to our current model of physics. Furthermore, spin gravity could be slowly dialed up or down to the gravity of the destination. The centrifuge would mostly likely double as the frame of an artificial magnetosphere generator; necessary to help protect occupants from harmful high energy radiation. (although this danger would be very difficult to eliminate)

The interior of the centrifuge would contain many airtight bulkheads, so as to prevent full decompression in case of an emergency. In the case of the Achernar, there are no internal bulkheads within the ring as the block based system of EGS makes this rather difficult to do while still looking half decent.

Engineering; All the Vessel's power generation (most likely Fission or Fusion) as well as fuel and O2 storage, computer systems and automation, communications, etc, would all be placed towards the very rear of the ship. This would reduce the likelihood of anything crucial and irreparable being damaged while en-route. An argument could be made for this space to be pressurized, or not. A pressurized environment could serve as a sort of lifeboat. However a depressurized space would be an extremely effective fire prevention system, although a major trade off would be decreased effectiveness of heat recycling systems, and leak control systems.

NOTES:::
- outside of the gravity ring, there is no gravity on-board the ship (done for realism)
-walking around the ring can sometimes be odd when approaching the top, EGS likes to "re-orientate" the player as if you were activating your jetpack. produces a strange effect at times.
-please be aware, messing with the areas of the ring sensors, or delay gates for the ring signals, may result in very odd behavior (mostly a worsening of the re-orientation effect, may extend to all areas of the ring)

-There may or may not be a comedic 'easter egg' somewhere ;)

Great "out of the box" Design! Very nice block work. I will take a walk through in creative. Mahalo for your work

I wish the "ring" is horizontal instead.

I have zero interest in using this, but this is an epic design, truly a beautiful creation and a well imagined "real" ship.
