One of the original madmen of wrestling, the Original Sheik, Ed Farhat terrorized opponents in Detroit, the Midwest, around the nation, and even as far away as Japan. Hailing from Syria, the Shiek was one of the most brutal, ruthless, bloody minded brawlers in his time, relentlessly stabbing opponents with a taped up pencil, biting their face and throwing fireballs with reckless abandon.

The Shiek ruled the Detroit territory for the better part of twenty years, a run in which he literally chewed up every opponent the crowd hoped would champion their cause. There was even a "Stop the Shiek" campaign against his title run that seemed to have little effect. In the latter part of his career, the Shiek was seem more as a pioneer and a beloved figure in the world of hardcore wrestling, still engaging in bloody wars into his 70s.
