Era - 1990s - WCW / ECW

A human dynamo, able to perform acrobatic feats never seen before, faster than the human eye can track, Rey Mysterio Jr took worldwide recognition of Lucha Libre to new levels.

Mysterio took his name from his uncle, Rey Mysterio Sr, who had trained him and brought him into the industry at a startlingly young fourteen years of age. By 1995, Mysterio Jr joined ECW, taking on the likes of Psicosis and Juventud Guerrera, both which he would continue to feud with a year later when he jumped to WCW.

In WCW, Rey won the Cruiserweight title, and persistently remained in the picture for the belt. Rey's most famous rivalry in the organization was likely that with Eddie Guerrero, and the two would trade wins back and forth for much of their respective runs with WCW. Mysterio also was lively in the tag team division, mostly teaming with either Billy Kidman or Konnan, even winning the titles once with old enemy Juventud Guerrera.
