Future Of The Isle of Wight

The Isle of WIght once had over 50 miles of railways covering the hole island. Today thers only 13 miles left of this once great system, between the Island Line and The Isle of Wight Steam Railway.

The Island Line is run down with old infrastructure, and rollingstock now more than 80 years old. This is mainly because off the Ryde Tunnel with its low clearance, making standard stock, from the mainland, not being able to run through it.

Several ideas have come up during the time, for what could be done to the Line, like closing the Island line and convert it to a tram way or an Express bus way.

In this route I have taken the idea of reinstating the Brading loop, which will make the Island line able to introduce a half hourly service. With the reinstated Brading loop, the up line, from Smallbrook to Ryde St Johns Road, has been given to the Isle of Wight Steam railway, so they are able to run into Ryde. I have left Smallbrook station in, as I don't see why it needs to be demolished at this moment in time.

And while I was ad it I have also build the Train Story building at Havenstreet, to the best of my abilities.
