Era - 1980s - NWA / WCW / UWF

One of the most dynamic dudes(sorry) of the late 1980s, Sting came over from Bill Watts's UWF to Jim Crockett Promotions, and instantly demonstrated the potential for superstardom. Sting's top level athleticism, mixing speed and power, with his charisma and intensity would ensure his path to the top.

At the first Clash of the Champions in 1988, Sting sought Ric Flair's World Heavyweight title for the first time, igniting a feud that would continue for over a decade in various forms. He would also feud with fellow facepainted wrestlers in the Road Warriors, teaming with Dusty Rhodes to do so, and with the Great Muta from New Japan Pro Wrestling. He would also begin teaming with Lex Luger and would even join Flair's Four Horsemen for a short period before returning to his pursuit of the World title.
