NSE 04: Harbour Express

Description
After a lot of trouble regarding the signaling at the Portsmouth Direct Line, the way should be clear now to have a smooth ride to the south, right? You are driving the 1218 NSE Waterloo - Portsmouth Harbour Express service, calling at Woking, Guildford, Godalming, Haslemere, Petersfield, Havant, Fratton, Portsmouth and Southsea and Portsmouth Harbour. Allthough the signalling issues have been fixed, the fog can be deceptive... Drive safely! Duration : 75 mins Difficulty : Medium (This is the fourth scenario in a series about Network SouthEast on the Portsmouth Direct Line)

Yes really did. The situation at Haslemere is a classic. Many times I got on the "stopper" to get a seat, then piled off at Haslemere to swap to th fast train which got to subsequent destination (Petersfield in my case) 5 or 19 mintues earler. Thanks

Most of the NSE scenarios in this series are based on photographs (like the use of 150's on Bristol - Portsmouth Services) and partial time table information from the nineties (like the top'n tailed sevice to Blackpool) right before South West Trains took over. For the time table details I could'nt find on the Internet, I used the current South West Trains time table to create a realistic service pattern, but of course with the 1990's situation in mind... Glad you enjoyed it! :)

NOW...What a well constructed scenario. Kept me more alert than a double expresso! So good at Haslemere (the stopper waiting for the fast to arrive and overtake...did you base that on a timetable or experience?) Also liked the top n tail InterCity at P&SS. Timing for getting into P Harbour is a bit tight.. Comm on give the driver a break after that journey :-)
Thanks
