By adding the half panel by the stairs, that allowed me to skip the whole puzzle. 2nd area is same as I remmeber.

My god. I'm right there with Expat. I've played that 2nd room at least twice. Had to put on my thinking cap to figure it out. REally nice series of chambers... All of the "off tracks"
