UPDATE: fixed VTF compression

Some of you asked for it, I wanted to do it, started it, scrapped it... multiple times. Restarted...
Here it is! I wasn't really sure if or when i'd finish this but in the end it all came together.

The AWP Supercharged was a long haul but I am pretty certain it was worth it. I've started it somewhere in the beginning of 2016, heavily relying on a AWP skin I've done a long time ago. It soon became clear though that this very base was more obstacle than aid. The predone details were limiting my design choices and I really only got stuck in a rut of open, edit, cancel... repeat.
I got to the point where I just abandoned the whole project altogether.

About 3 months ago I've rebooted the AWP. I started all over this time though and it finally came together. I've modeled several details to be in line with the typical dragster as those powerful monstrosities are the perfect metaphor for the AWP. They drive really fast in a straight way and take quite some time to do so again. The long body and barrel of the gun are really reminiscent of them as well. So i've fitted the gun with a big engine and characteristic triple exhaust pipes in the back, a turbocharger at the front (there's a reason i never became a mechanic). The scope knobs have the wheel look I've used throughout the series and i even had some spare pixels to give them the characteristic writing on the tire wall.

I've worked through dozens of decal designs on the yellow body but I've went back to a rather clean approach to leave place for stickers etc. It always ended looking up weird when i brought in very long stripes from the front to the back so I've made some fictional sponsor stickers to emphasize the whole dragracing theme without making it look all cluttered.

I really took my time with this skin and i hope it shows. I can really recommend taking a few steps back from a project and leaving it for a few days. It can sometimes really open ones eyes for the right thing to do in the end.

I hope you enjoy this skin.

I'd be glad if you vote for me and follow my workshop.

Thanks in advance!
