[Fighter Blueprint] MEC SP Mk. V 'Venombolt' Heavy Fighter

The SP Mk. III 'Thunderbolt' was the first MEC Signature fighter ever released to the public. Featuring a pair of wing-mounted tesla coils, it was capable of bringing quite a jolt to any carrier engagement. While the Muthos Engineering Consortium has come a long way since those early days when the 'Thunderbolt' was designed, it has proven a tried and true fighter that we continue to proudly manufacture even today.

Some of our more aesthetically-minded customers, however, have expressed frustration that the 'Thunderbolt' does not match some of our newer, larger offerings. A holdover from the MEC's earliest days, the fighter's black and white hull predates the black and yellow that has become the MEC standard since the VF line of fighters was developed. Well, to those lamenting the unavailability of a 'Thunderbolt' that matches the 'Vespa' hive ship, we at the MEC are ecstatic to present the SP Mk. V 'Venombolt' Heavy Fighter*!

Featuring the same basic design as the 'Thunderbolt,' the 'Venombolt' comes in our signature black and yellow coloration. While we were at it, we went ahead and swapped out the old style drives for our patented VCOIL fighter drive system - the same ones used in our VF line of fighters. Now you, our valued customer, have a choice between the old school 'Thunderbolt' fighter and the new, shiny, significantly more yellow 'Venombolt' fighter! Buy both for double the fun!

This is a long overdue update of the SP Mk. III 'Thunderbolt' design to better match my more recent design aesthetic. The original can be found here.

Some folks seemed to like the original, so I thought I'd provide another choice for those of you who might want a version that better matches some of my more recent builds. The SP Mk. V 'Venombolt' is 198 blocks. It is a repaint of the original with additional side vents and different engines.

Screenshots (besides the auto-generated preview image) show fighters at true scale - when you use this blueprint to produce fighters, that's the level of detail you can expect from the final product.

This ship is intended for use as a fighter blueprint, as it lacks the critical ship components necessary for player control.
