Atmospheric Cargo Ship

Description
This is my design for a very simple atmospheric cargo ship. I'm mostly uploading this for backup purposes, but perhaps someone else may find use for it. After all, at least from what I've seen and experienced, creating a functional and stable atmospheric vessel can be problematic, and while this ship does absolutely nothing special or crazy, it works, and is also fairly cheap to build.

This ship's primary purpose is to fly the player around and transport cargo. It has 3 medium cargo containers, plus of course the cockpit and connector's inventories, permitting it to haul over 300k kg of ore. Because it doesn't use any small conveyors, it can also transport parts and easily transfer them from any point to a connected station's crates.

The ship is compact and light when empty, and on Earth it can remain airborne even when totally loaded down. On Mars, which has a thinner atmosphere, the ship is more sluggish, but it will work. To a degree, it will even work on Europa, though I offer absolutely no guarantee about how heavy it can get (also, it's absolutely possible to accidentally launch it into space).

The part requirements for this ship are very small. I edit this as of the more recent updates, which have changed the starting conditions for Star System play. It is possible to build this ship using only the Basic Refinery and Basic Assembler. As such, it's a great choice for exploring the area around looking for elusive ores.

Features:

* 3 spotlights to make night-time navigation easier
* Under-Cockpit mounted Connector for easy transfer (you may wish to build a platform for the ship to land on, with the station connector at the same height as the surrounding blocks to make this easier.)
* 4 Gyroscopes, 4 large up-thrusters, 6 forward and backward thrusters, 4 left and right thrusters.
* Antenna and Ore Detector
* Attached O2 Generator to make it useful on other planets.
* Easy to build via Projector (see below)
* Connector Cam to make docking easier

Like I said, this is nothing fancy at all and I uploaded this for backup as much as anything else. However, I do believe it is a useful ship for startups in Survival mode.

When it comes to building this ship off projector, I'm sure we all know that a lot of complex ships have a problem where it's almost impossible to not accidentally weld outer blocks before inner blocks, making completing the ship a chore. There are two locations where I've had this happen: Next to the landing gears, and the blocks surrounding the left/right thrusters. However, this should be fairly easy to spot and fix. Just make sure you have the frame complete before you weld in the landers and the L/R thrusters and you should be good to go.

I don't care if you use this ship as a baseboard to build some other ship, but if you let me know if you do, and maybe link it, that'd be cool. If you mention me, that's even cooler. But I don't expect it. Like I said, this thing isn't special, it just works properly.

Nevermind, that was my fault: I thought the first control on the toolbar was a power switch. It's for the autolock. *facepalm*

This fits the bill for what I need for 'running errands' to mining sites and the like. The only problem I have is that the landing gear keeps going back to Auto Lock.

I just saw that somebody gave this an award and I have to say I'm thrilled that years later some folks are still using and enjoying my little cargo flyer. Thank you, and enjoy!

Awesome design! I added a cam under the lower spotlight to help with approach and docking.:steamhappy:

Looks good! Nice design, I especially like the connector cam :)
