This mod was made with Aberration in mind, originally. It has now been updated recently (11/16/2018) with Extinction in mind as well, to make Element Vein harvesting far more efficient!

Now while lugging around resource-pets with a karkinos is good, it isn't always the best option, and some can consider a Karkinos a later game tame. On my server, we ran Upgrade Station: so we were constantly in need of gems in order to make high-end Aberration items, and we really had no truly effective way to gather them. Thus, i've made something simple but useful: the Gemsaw!

Crafted in your inventory, the Gemsaw costs the same resources as a normal chainsaw, but is far more durable. Has the same damagetype as an Ankylosaurus, making gathering valuable mineral resources a really easy task!

Why lug around a slow Karkinos when you could lug around an agile, weight-based Rock Drake? Or Ravager?

My Gemsaw should be a big help to anybody wanting to farm high amounts of Aberration mineral resources effectively!


///////EXTINCTION USE/PLAYERS/////
The original implementation of this mod had the Gemsaw using the same damage type as the Ankylo, and boy, the day those veins came out, my server and I found the Gemsaw stupid useful. However, Wildcard has made it (as of 11/16/2018) that only metal tools can harvest these veins. So I've changed the damage type of the Gemsaw to that of the metal pick, for continued use on Veins! It'll still be a big help for harvesting nodes!
