Attack Slots x3

Description
Enables Attack Slots x3

A simple mod that changes the base attack slots.
Vanilla game has it set to 1, so only one on one combat is possible.
This version is set to three. so three NPCs or players can attack the same target.

Load order should be at the bottom of the list when you enable this Mod. this way it will override any mod, including my own that change the base attack slots.

this does not make the game easier. it will make it harder.
x3 makes soloing a difficult challenge.

3x seems to be the sweet spot despite what perfect_Prefect says. His argument is also severely flawed.. I play with increased chance of death and bigger nests(more hostile squads) and the cities haven't had any issues in the almost 600 hours I have put in kenshi.

If anything I would argue it makes the game harder for you early to mid game. Until you build up a capable squad that is able to fight well, and cohesively, YOU are the one getting ganged up on constantly. I remember when I first got Kang and a small squad of starving vagrants put him on the ground despite having mid 20s stats.

Also any boss or big enemy typically has a bunch of friends ex: bugmaster has a biome and building full of spiders, Catlon has something like 120 thraws waiting to rush you. So it's not like you just steamroll the game. I also recently watched a lvl 70 skeleton tech hunter solo a NH base raid squad of like 30 ppl, mostly paladins. and that was with it being 3 on 1 the entire time.

This modder made a x2 x3 x4 x5

And depending on what mods you use that change the combat system, it might be useful to have more than x1, or even more than x2, depending on what mods you use together.

Some mods also add attack slots if they use a more advanced combat system than the original game.

Therefore it makes sense if there are several mods of it.

Note that you don't need this mod if you have RE_Kenshi installed, as that lets you change the attack slots to whatever number you want.

If you're looking for a universally balanced setup, Attack Slots x2 fits Kenshi very well. It slightly increases the importance of numbers, but still preserves the original balance and leaves room for individual skill - a trained warrior with high stats and good gear can still mow down enemies - just a bit less excessively. Exactly what’s needed! I use it myself and recommend it.

That said, if you’re planning to frequently fight using large squads of your own - i.e. groups that significantly outnumber most enemy parties - then it’s probably best not to increase the number of attack slots at all

Because of this, Attack Slots x3 might be acceptable - but with a serious caveat. It's probably only appropriate for playthroughs with small squads of melee fighters. Keep in mind that ranged units (crossbowmen) don’t occupy melee attack slots - they can shoot simultaneously and aren't limited by how many allies are already engaging the enemy. Meanwhile, most NPC squads are composed almost entirely of melee fighters. So if your squad includes ranged units, you'll create a powerful synergy with the increased number of attack slots - enemies will be overwhelmed and wiped out, especially lone bosses or small elite groups.

In vanilla (Attack Slots x1), cities like Mongrel are able to withstand attacks from weak enemies like fogmen thanks to strong guards. The same applies to Flotsam Ninja bases, Cannibal Hunter camps, etc. With a high number of attack slots (e.g., x4 or x5), there's a real risk that weak enemies could overwhelm defenders, which may destabilize the world. Now imagine stacking that with mods like Cannibals Expanded...

My Reasoned Opinion on Why Increasing Attack Slots to x3+ Is Not Desirable (and a spoiler right away: Attack Slots x2 is just what you need)

The world of Kenshi thrives on a sense of vulnerability and the value of individual skill. When you're facing a powerful enemy, having just one attack slot allows quality to stand out over quantity. Increasing the number of slots dilutes that experience, turning even epic NPCs like Cat-Lon into mere fodder for a crowd. While this might be closer to realism, it goes against the role-playing design and balance of Kenshi’s world, where elite, well-known NPCs are meant to feel like legendary figures.
Depending on your playstyle, it can noticeably simplify the game - rather than make it harder.

@boba, it's refering to how many people can attack the same person at the same time.

So in a 1v3 with 1x attack slots, the 3 would attack one after the other giving the 1 a chance to block each attack separately

Whereas with 3x attack slots the 3 could all attack together, making the 1 have an extremely hard time blocking all strikes, if not outright impossible.

Isn't it in the game? I see all the time my one character getting attacked by multiple guys, like theyre doing attacks almost at the same time
