About

Originally for personal use, I've decided to make it public. This mod has a new mechanic and several items so it's still being balanced. Feedback is welcome.

Please do not re-upload or alter this mod.

Lore

One night Mike fell into a deep sleep and heard a distant voice calling out to him in his dream. Following the voice he found himself climbing a long staircase leading up to a mysterious door. Opening the door, his eyes fell upon a familiar sight, a world from one of his favorite games. From that night on, Mike could enter the worlds of video games while he dreamed. Furthermore he could manipulate the world around him, summoning items and power ups from other games at will.

This power has its limits however, the foreign items are unstable and want to return to the world they were pulled from. Mike must use his Dream power to keep the items tethered to him. If he over taxes his Dream power the item being used slips back to its world of origin.

Being a fan of retro games, most items are pulled from the titles of his youth.

Mike doesn't have a W name because he doesn't belong to this world.

RetroMike

"Nice, another game to explore."

Stats:

Health: 160 - Hunger: 150 - Sanity:200 - Dream: 100

Traits:

"Can move between game worlds"
Mike can pull items from other worlds

"Explores like Master Higgins"
He runs a bit faster than normal (10%) but this comes at the cost of increased hunger drain (10%)

"Trash can connoisseur"
Mike's faster hunger drain can be a problem on long trips. Thankfully years or eating trash can chicken and pot roasts that were sealed inside castle walls has given him a strong stomach.

Starting item:

Retro's Flatcap:
Not a game item, just his trusty flatcap. This cap regenerates an additional 10 Dream per minute. It also has a small amount of wetness and heat protection. Anyone can wear it.

Crafting recipe: (Found under the dress tab)
x6x6x2

Dream Energy:

Mike uses this energy to draw items from other worlds. Any item attempting to consume more Dream than is available will return to its own world (Breaks). It acts as durability, fuel and crafting component for summoned items.

Dream energy has a passive regeneration rate of 20 per minute, but some items can increase or decrease this number.

For example.
Passive + Flatcap = 30 per min
Passive + Trainer bag = 10 per min
Passive + Trainer bag + Flatcap = 20 per min

Sleeping regens 1 Dream per second.

Summon Tab:

All Dream items are crafted here. Only Mike can use these items.

What would happen if I tried to equip the Trainer Bag as another character? would it consume the crafter's Dream Energy, or would it just come right off? What if I crafted it as another character, like if I used the console command "c_freecrafting()"?

@RetroMike saw your comment on my profile. Honestly, that was from a long time ago so not sure what the issue was. Also I see how vague and unhelpful my report was haha

Hey guys, apparently there's issues with several items? Can we get an update? Or if you guys have moved on can I patch it up haha. Am hoping to feature retromike as one of the initially supported mod characters in Starving Floor 2, but cannot do so in his current state

I'm thinking of using this as my character in a lets play like thing with my buds because this mod is so cool. I'm a big fan of videos games so this mod really apeals to me. I would like to point out that mike's quotes are wilson's which actually makes sense to me.

The sleeping bug should be corrected now. Looks like I might have goofed a line order while applying a previous bug fix.
