Night of 15 September 1942

In the end of 14 september German forces took the main points on the Volga coast. It threatens to soviets landing stages on the coast, then it was decided to move the 13 Guard Rifle division of general A.I. Rodimtsev on the right coast that doesn't let the germans take up defence on the coast.

the Germans had heavy casualties despite of their successes and they weren't to able hold taken positions
if there was a massive counterattack.

In the mill located forces of 518 infantry regiment of 76 infantry division which was attacked by the 1st battalion of 42 guardian rifle regiment at night.

К концу 14 сентября немецкие войска заняли ключевые точки на берегу Волги. Это создало угрозу переправам Красной Армии, и было принято решение переправить 13 гвардейскую стрелковую дивизию А.И.Родимцева, чтобы не дать немцам закрепиться на берегу.

Несмотря на значительные успехи наступления, немцы понесли значительные потери и удержать занятые позиции в случае крупной контратаки не представлялось возможным.

В мельнице расположились части 518 пехотного полка 76-ой пехотной дивизии, которые были атакованы ночью 1 батальоном 42 гвардейского стрелкового полка.
