Description
MNI’s fighter core is based on, around and in the Viper and its variants, the Wasp and the Venus. However, there are times when just spamming one type of aircraft just isn’t going to cut it. What might be needed is a heavy fighter, capable of quickly knocking out almost an entire fighter squadron with one good shot per kill. One which brings plenty of firepower to the table. One that can enter maximum speed with absurd ease.
The Mars class heavy fighter promises to provide for precisely the above. It combines MNI’s ruthless love for excessive firepower with the speed of a maniac. And that’s before one factor’s in the fact that, once full loaded, it can reach top speed within 10 seconds, max.
Next comes the firepower, and the Mars doesn’t disappoint in bringing the pain to whatever enemy fighter/bomber/transport comes across its way. Packed with four ATA missiles, each one capable of destroying a Venus fighter without any need for follow up attacks. And don’t just think that these can’t just as easily be used against ground targets because they’re ‘ATA’ weapons.
And just because a pilot launched four missiles doesn’t mean it’s defenceless. Far from it, anyone thinking it’s ATA missiles are its only armament will be in for a rude awakening, as it wields staggering 12 rocket launchers, set into two groups of six, 4 Gatling guns and a pair of top-mounted Gatling turrets. With gyroscopes set up, this monster can dogfight just as easily as it can boom-and-zoom.
Whether it be clearing the skies of enemy aircraft, or launching brutal airstrikes against land foes, the Mars fighter stands ready to bring war across the stars. Receive a squadron, and watch enemy fighters descend to the dirt around you.
The Mars-Sh variant uses installed energy shielding to make an already formidable aircraft even more dangerous, allowing it to soak enemy shots before retaliating with lethal effect. While MNI advises that the first defence should be evasion, if push comes to shove and something hits, you stand the chance of returning home unscathed.
---
Literally a Mars Fighter but with Energy Shielding (no other improvements have been added, or found, for that matter).
Essentials of using the missile:
Step 1: Aim at whatever fighter/bomber/transport/whoever♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥you-off-that’s-small.
Step 2: Press 4 to send hydrogen-propelled insults at them. (Note: uses method 0. Because I’m lazy, and what I use, works)
Capable of OHKO any Venus-Equivalent fighter (Or VEQ, for short). I would know, because I used one on a Venus. Good against fighters (which are fragile, and can’t take it), bad against capitals (which are sturdy, and CAN take it)
