Yeah I don't think there's much to help with framerate then. (I tried building a scale model of one of my huge builds and only got a few thousand blocks in before I threw in the towel...) I mean, yeah the sun rotation could still help, and you might be able to save yourself a few thousand polygons with one of those mods that remove the block border things, might be worth it... Anyways, still a great build, more impressive considering it's size to be small grid...
A- small grids cannot be a station
B- i wanted to be able to fly it
And as the ship is vanilla, excluding the turrets, you cant use interior blocks as they are large grid only.
2.Nice curve work on the hull especially, trying to do that stuff always kills me.
3. You may already know all this but, do you have it set as a "Station"? That helps enourmously with these over the top builds. As well as turning off sun rotation. And avoid "Interior wall" blocks like the plague, those things for some reason are actually rather resource heavy... And while it's really cool to use, turret ai and such is also kind of a hog...
