EARTH BATTERY CRYSTAL

The Earth battery[en.wikipedia.org] is an electrical power source that uses planet Earth to generate electricity when two dissimilar metal electrodes are put into electrical contact with the ground at large distances. Doing so allows the battery to tap what are known as telluric currents. Using the cardinal element of earth rather than a planet seems to have a similar effect, but not quite at the same magnitude... for obvious reasons.
