I just noticed your ship's heat signature is merely 0.2 GW less than my Gunship 2.
You can check out my Defence Frigate which has 4 dedicated 3 GW flare launcher intended to cover the Gunship 2 I made.

I tried to reduce the missile carrier drone to 1 (by shooting others down) but no luck. Fragmentation went right through the amrmor (with flaks coming in at 4-5km/s) and even made a hole on the opposite flat side. But this time the ship remained in one piece. It appears the radiator placement had drawn missile right into crew compartment. I'd suggest move it around so missile would hit propellant tank in the worst case. My drone carrier ship is uploaded to workshop and it is named "Dark Knight Carrier". And no, the missile drone is named "Basher", a hidden blade/weapon (truth is I'm bad at naming ships). If you are interested how I defend these missiles using armor, you can checkout the Gunship 2 I made, if it goes head on into incoming flaks (60-ish), it has a high chance surviving the strike than helplessly dodging it (must disable avoidance for this). It even has light variant that weighs about the same as yours, albeit costs 3 times as much.

Uh... Like 9mm bullet through a clock.. then it went half... Maybe I threw at it too much (AI usually throws 15 drones each carrying 4 flak)

I do use mods but so far I haven't included any in the ships I've put up on the workshop. I'm afraid people will subscribe to something and not be able to use it because they don't have any mods. I'm glad you like the laser, it took a while to get it right.

The laser on it is amazing though, you actually got it into the terawatt scale with non modded materials, speaking of, why don't you use mods?

The zinc is just used to add cosmetic striping to the hull. The armor is fragile... which wouldn't be an issue if the AI was smart enough to constantly keep accelerating even after it enters weapons range. Against a dozen hits or so the armor holds up, and it can shrug off laser damage to the hull as well, but being able to accelerate out of the way of incoming fire is its primary defensive measure, and that's something the AI cannot do, unfortunately.

A very potent adversary this thing, I got the barrels sniped of my best gunship mere minutes into the game, but it's very fragile, what's with all that zinc?
